East Waterboro, Maine — June 25 — Following their graduation from the 2026 Firefighter 1 & 2 Academy, Firefighter/EMT John Bryant and Firefighter/AEMT Sean Perkins received recognition from the Waterboro Fire Department. Bryant recently started working as a full-time fireman with the department and was named Student of the Year. Before being assigned to a normal shift, he began field training with FF/Paramedic Mike Hersom.

In addition to his years of service, Perkins, a longtime department member, also finished the academy. The department's operational readiness was strengthened by the Firefighter 1 and 2 certification, which equipped both members with advanced abilities in fire suppression, rescue operations, firefighter safety, and emergency response.
