Wells, Maine — June 14 — In remembrance of Searsmont Assistant Fire Chief Wayne Woodbury, who passed away at Maine Medical Center on June 14 from injuries received during the May 15 fire and explosion at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont, the Wells Fire Department joined fire stations throughout Maine.

Woodbury, 76, has almost 60 years of experience in the Maine fire service, having worked in the Bath Iron Works Fire Brigade, the Searsmont Fire Department, and the Belmont Fire Department. In recognition of his decades of service and enduring contributions to Maine's emergency services community, Wells firemen sent their sympathies to his family, friends, and fellow Searsmont Fire Department members.
