Whitesville, NY - A Captain from the Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department visited a local YMCA daycare this week to introduce children to the world of firefighting.

Kids got an up-close look at a fire truck, learned about the gear firefighters use to stay safe, and asked plenty of thoughtful questions. The visit focused on helping children understand that firefighters are there to help—even if their gear can seem intimidating at first.
