1918 Mack AC Pumper. This pumper was originally a dump truck destined for the european battlefields of WW1. When the The war was ended many chassis became surplus.The city of Baltimore bought 12 surrplus chassis in 1921. In 1923 the fire department installed the 600 GPM pump and body. From 1923 until 1947 it answered all calls in the industrialized canton area of Baltimore, From 1947 to 1958 it served as a reserve apparatus. It was purchased by the Hyde Park MD volunteer Fire Department in 1958 and by the Mack museum in 1959. This truck is on loan to America on Wheels museum 5 north front street Allentown, Pa 18102 by the Mack trucks historical museum.
