Charlestown Fire District Trains on Water Rescue Operations at Watchaug Pond

Charlestown, RI - Members of the Charlestown Fire District conducted water rescue training at Watchaug Pond, focusing on the use and deployment of specialized water rescue equipment.


The department, along with Charlestown Ambulance and Dunn’s Corners Fire District, is one of three local agencies equipped with a trailered rescue boat capable of responding to emergencies in area ponds and rivers.


Officials said the training helps ensure crews remain prepared to quickly and effectively respond to water-related emergencies throughout the community.
