Nashua Fire Rescue Conducts Ladder Company Training in Tight Urban Areas

Nashua, NH - Nashua Fire Rescue recently conducted ladder company training in older, densely built sections of the city to prepare crews for operations in areas with limited access and closely spaced structures.

Training focused on challenges including narrow streets, parked vehicles, utility lines, and adjacent buildings that can make ladder truck positioning difficult. Crews also reviewed the increased risk of rapid fire spread between nearby structures.

Firefighters practiced aerial ladder placement for rescues, ventilation, and access in multi-story buildings, while working through restricted setup areas and complex positioning scenarios.

Officials said the training also emphasized coordination between multiple responding units and the importance of communication in confined operating environments.
