Selkirk, NY - Selkirk Fire Department’s Tanker 29-33 participated in a large-scale water supply operation hosted by New Salem Fire Department, alongside more than 15 area departments.
The drill simulated a fire in a non-hydranted area, requiring a coordinated tanker shuttle operation. Draft sites were established on Tygert Road and Pine Street in Voorheesville, where tankers filled and transported water to portable ponds. From there, engines supplied ladder trucks operating aerial streams.
This hands-on training highlighted the coordination and efficiency required to deliver a sustained water supply in rural and limited-access areas.
