This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Westmere, NY - Westmere Fire Department members took advantage of a rainy evening to conduct live vehicle fire training at the Guilderland Training Tower. Despite less-than-ideal conditions, crews remained committed, gaining valuable hands-on experience in fire attack, suppression techniques, and scene safety.

Training in challenging weather helps prepare firefighters for the realities of emergency response, ensuring they can operate effectively when conditions are far from perfect. Drills like this reinforce readiness and build the confidence needed to perform when it matters most.
