Wellsville, N.Y. — June 9 — At Station 2, the Wellsville NY Vol. Fire Department finished its yearly fire hose testing to make sure the apparatus was still prepared for emergency response. After each section fulfilled the necessary performance standards, US Fire Services tested, certified, and reloaded the hose assigned to Engines 1, 2, 3, 7, and 9. An essential component of apparatus maintenance, annual hose testing verifies that the hose can safely tolerate operating pressures during firefighting operations.

Members of the department helped maintain the equipment's readiness for use throughout. In addition to ensuring that firefighters had dependable water delivery equipment on hand for emergencies throughout the Wellsville community, the testing improved operational readiness.
