Firefighters Efstathia "Ash" Andriopoulos-Dodd and Matthew VanDerveer received recognition from the Raritan Township Fire Company on June 13th for obtaining their Firefighter I certificates.
According to officials, VanDerveer finished Class 26-1, whereas Andriopoulos-Dodd graduated as a member of Class 25-2. To prepare firefighters for emergency response, the Firefighter I program needs more than 200 hours of classroom teaching, training in practical skills, and testing. Both members continued to assist with department operations and attend to emergency calls during their training.
