This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

MERIDEN, N.H. — June 2 — The "Rural Hitch" system, which creates a continuous water supply through tanker shuttle operations in regions without fire hydrants, was the topic of a rural water supply training exercise carried out by the Plainfield NH Volunteer Fire Department. In order to increase efficiency during rural fire events, firefighters rehearsed coordinating water delivery with mutual assistance partners. Tanker operations, water transfer protocols, and departmental communication were all strengthened by the exercise.

Communities that depend on tanker shuttles during building fires must receive training in rural water supply. Regular exercises, according to department officials, enhance operational preparedness, increase mutual aid coordination, and guarantee a reliable water supply for disaster operations in rural areas.
