Wildland Readiness in Action: Foster Crews Sharpen Brush Fire Skills

Foster, RI - Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company spent the evening focused on wildland firefighting readiness, conducting hands-on training with brush fire equipment and tactics.

Crews reviewed and checked all wildland gear to ensure it is ready for immediate deployment, then put the department’s Humvee wildland unit through pump operations and field techniques designed for rugged terrain where larger apparatus cannot operate.

With dry conditions and recent brush fire activity in the region, the training reinforces the importance of speed, adaptability, and strong preparation when dealing with fast-moving wildland incidents.
