This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

To improve rescue abilities and interagency coordination, members of the Hardwick Fire Department organized a regional car extrication training exercise with many mutual assistance agencies on June 20.

According to officials, firefighters practiced practical extrication scenarios in order to get teams ready for major car accidents. Coordination between adjacent departments, safe rescue methods, and teamwork were all stressed throughout the training. The fire departments of Greensboro, Woodbury, Cabot, Elmore, Wolcott, and Hardwick Rescue were among those who took part.

Department leaders acknowledged the Hardwick Fire Auxiliary for providing food and refreshments for participants despite the inclement weather and thanked All Metals for supplying the vehicles utilized during the drill.
