Hampton, N.H. — June 6 — Firefighters Trevor Chappell and Seth Butler were honored by Hampton Fire/Rescue for finishing the Pro EMS Center for MEDICS Paramedic Program. Classroom teaching, skill labs, hospital clinical rotations, and field internships with seasoned paramedics were all part of the rigorous program. A major step toward obtaining a paramedic license and enhancing their emergency medical skills was completing the curriculum.
Advanced pre-hospital care is provided by paramedics, involving complex medical emergency treatment, drug delivery, and patient assessment. The New Hampshire Protocol exam and the National Registry Paramedic exam will now be completed by both firemen. Their accomplishment improves community care and fortifies the department's EMS services.
