During a practical training session in Gilford on May 29, Rochester Fire Department personnel fulfilled their yearly live burn training requirement.

According to officials, A Shift completed the department's yearly live fire training program for all four shifts by traveling to the training site. In a controlled setting, the exercise gave firefighters practical practice with fire assault, search operations, ventilation tactics, and crew coordination.

According to department commanders, live burn training is a crucial part of teaching firefighters because it gives them the chance to practice vital skills in situations that closely mimic real-world emergencies. The training ensures that firemen are always ready to react to community calls in a safe and efficient manner.
