Members of the Augusta Fire-Rescue gathered firemen from all over the area on June 1st to support departments impacted by recent losses and to memorialize dead firefighters.
Firemen Soukup, Currier, Marshall, Billington, and O'Hare reportedly showed up to Morrill firefighter Andrew Cross's wake to offer their condolences and support to his friends, family, and fellow firemen. In addition, following Firefighter Robert Kilduff Jr.'s line-of-duty death, Firefighters Morton, O'Hare, and Marshall—who are members of the department's Honor Guard—traveled to Boston to honor and support the Boston Fire Department.
The loss of a firefighter affects the whole fire service community, not just one department, according to department heads.
