Littleton Fire Rescue personnel continued to be active throughout the area on June 13th, juggling training exercises, emergency responses, event coverage, and mutual aid assignments during a hectic Saturday.
According to officials, Ambulance 2 was designated to serve competitors and spectators during the Cirque Series race at Cannon Mountain by providing EMS coverage. Engine 2 and a number of other firemen participated in a live fire training exercise organized by the Bethlehem Fire Department at the same time, which gave them invaluable practical experience in actual fireground conditions.
Back in Littleton, B-Shift handled a number of situations, such as a medical emergency near the rail path where rescuers had to evacuate a patient by carrying them up a steep embankment. Ambulance 1 and Car 1 responded to a car accident during the day, while Ambulance 3 and Utility 1 helped Bethlehem firefighters with a critically ill patient. Later, on a service call, crews helped access a recreational vehicle.
Littleton Fire Rescue responded to nine service requests in total while also offering firefighter training, mutual aid support, and event standby coverage. The day's actions, according to department management, showed the adaptability and dedication of staff members who continued to respond to calls from the neighborhood and the surrounding area.
