This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

New Castle, N.H. — June 3 — The New Castle Fire Department participated in a simulated event at Seabrook Station as part of a radiological emergency response exercise with local and regional agencies. Emergency plans, communications, resource deployment, and coordination between fire, law enforcement, emergency management, and municipal departments were all put to the test during the exercise. Responders reviewed protocols for island community evacuation and public safety while working through a scenario involving a possible security threat.

The training offered a chance to assess operational preparedness and improve interagency collaboration. Frequent exercises of this kind guarantee that agencies continue to be ready to handle major crises while upholding a high standard of service for locals, companies, and tourists.
