Windham, N.H. — May 25 — In observance of Memorial Day, Windham Fire Department and Emergency Management joined towns around the country in paying tribute to US military personnel who lost their lives while serving their country. In addition to serving as a time for introspection and memory, the day honored the sacrifices made by military people throughout American history.

Communities across the country staged Memorial Day services, flag displays, and monuments to pay tribute to the deceased and provide support to their families. Residents were urged by department representatives to pause in remembrance of those who never made it home from military service and to acknowledge the enduring influence their sacrifice has had on the country and future generations.
