Newport City, VT - Members of the City of Newport Fire Department joined the Vermont Hazardous Materials Response Team, Orleans Fire Department, and Lyndonville Fire Department for a joint training exercise on Lake Memphremagog.
The exercise focused on responding to a large-scale fuel spill, with crews practicing the deployment of containment booms used to limit the spread of hazardous materials on the water.
The training provided an opportunity for the agencies to strengthen coordination, communication, and preparedness for potential environmental emergencies in the region.
