Pawlet, VT - Members of the West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department recently conducted a training exercise focused on hose line advancement techniques and water supply operations utilizing portable pumps.
The practical drill was incorporated into a community improvement project as firefighters used the operation to wash the deck of Betts Bridge for the Town of Pawlet. The exercise provided crews with valuable hands-on experience moving water, operating portable pumping equipment, and coordinating water supply operations in a real-world setting.
By combining training with public service, department members strengthened critical firefighting skills while helping maintain local infrastructure. The event reflected the department's commitment to both emergency preparedness and community support—proving that when it comes to moving water, it's what they do.
