Members of Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company No. 2 and Ocean Fire Company gathered on June 1st for their monthly FAST (Firefighter Assist and Search Team) training exercise.

According to officials, the session's main goal was to use ground ladders and a Stokes basket to remove a fallen firefighter from a roof. In order to safely lower a casualty from a high location to the ground, firefighters performed coordinated lowering tactics and went over how to properly rig the basket to a ladder system.

In order to reinforce the cooperation and coordination needed during firefighter rescue operations, the simulation also placed a strong emphasis on crew communication.
