E Rutherford, NJ - The East Rutherford Fire Department responded to Hoboken Road for a report of a worker trapped inside a trench. Upon arrival, firefighters found an individual approximately 10 feet below ground level and unable to escape the excavation.

Following an initial assessment, Chief Felten requested assistance from the UASI Urban Search and Rescue Metro Strike Team. Firefighters and specialized rescue personnel conducted an extensive trench rescue operation, successfully freeing the trapped worker.

The worker was transferred to EMS for evaluation and transported to a hospital for further medical care.
