Following an injury he received while working at a structure fire on May 28, members of the Cedar Grove Fire Department are coming together to support Captain Tower.
When inside conditions started to worsen, Captain Tower, who was assigned to the first-arriving truck company, was performing search and rescue efforts, according to officials. He sustained serious injuries to his quadriceps and knee after falling on a stairway while leaving the second floor.
As he starts to heal, Captain Tower has surgery. He has served the community for many years, regularly responding to emergency calls and exhibiting leadership on the fireground, according to department commanders. The department asked residents, fellow firefighters, and neighboring agencies to keep Captain Tower and his family in their thoughts as he recovers. Officials thanked him for his dedication and wished him a successful recovery and return to duty.
