Fanwood, N.J. — May 18 — The Fanwood Fire Department honored EMTs, paramedics, and emergency medical personnel that serve the community year-round in observance of National EMS Week. Medical emergencies, auto accidents, and public safety events are just a few of the many situations that emergency medical services (EMS) respond to. Because of their skills, they can stabilize patients, provide emergency care, and work with hospitals in emergency situations.

The opportunity to acknowledge the critical role EMS professionals play in the emergency response system is provided by National EMS Week. EMS workers collaborate closely with law enforcement, firefighters, and medical professionals to safeguard public health and safety while delivering vital care to citizens on a daily basis, according to department officials.
