Elizabeth Fire Officers Observed Memorial Day

Elizabeth, N.J. — May 25 — IAFF Local 2040 Fire Officers in Elizabeth, New Jersey, joined communities around the country in commemorating Memorial Day and paying tribute to those who lost their lives while serving their country. The yearly celebration acts as a reminder of the sacrifices made by previous generations of service members and the families who are still carrying on their legacy. To honor those who lost their life while serving their country, Memorial Day ceremonies, parades, and commemoration events were held around the nation.


The day represented the ideals of responsibility, dedication, and public service for those in the emergency services community. Residents were urged by Local 2040 to take a moment to honor the departed and recognize their enduring contributions to the country.
