Keene Firefighters Sharpen Rope Rescue Skills in Technical Training Evolution

Keene, NH - Firefighters with Professional Firefighters of Keene IAFF Local 3265 recently completed rope rescue training designed to enhance their ability to access and safely remove patients from challenging and elevated environments.


Training included rope system construction, patient packaging, litter operations, edge transitions, and raising and lowering techniques over a rock face. The exercises emphasized teamwork, precision, and safety while simulating real-world rescue scenarios.


Officials noted that technical rescues are low frequency but high-risk incidents, making ongoing training essential to ensure crews remain prepared for emergencies involving stranded or injured individuals in difficult terrain.
