Alpha Volunteer Fire Company Station 82 members celebrated a hectic May filled with emergency response, training, community service, and fundraising events on June 1.
According to officials, the department continued its regular equipment and apparatus inspections while responding to 20 service requests during the month. Additionally, during simulated fireground scenarios, firefighters took part in specialised training centred on Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) operations, including RIT board management, air pack conversions, firefighter rescue tactics, hydrant operations, line deployment, and master stream operations.
In addition to emergency response and training, members put American and firefighter flags throughout Alpha Cemetery in remembrance of soldiers and fallen firefighters and helped with Alpha Borough's Memorial Day services alongside the John Dolak American Legion Post 446.
