Hernando, FL - Hernando County Fire Rescue crews continue to participate in specialized K-9 medical training alongside TGH Aeromed and ShandsCair Critical Care Transport Program.

The training focuses on providing emergency care to injured law enforcement K-9s, including patient stabilization, treatment techniques, and coordination with incoming air medical units. Crews also practice establishing and managing landing zones to ensure safe and efficient transfer of K-9 patients to air transport.

This ongoing training enhances readiness for unique, high-priority incidents involving working K-9 units.
