Firefighters Engage Students with Hands-On Fire Safety Education

Columbia, FL - Columbia County Fire Rescue personnel from Station 44, along with members of the Community Paramedicine Program, visited a local elementary school to deliver fire safety education to second-grade students.
Crews provided practical safety guidance while giving students an up-close look at firefighting tools and protective equipment used during emergency operations. The visit also included an opportunity for students to meet Fire Chief Jeff Crawford and ask questions about the role of firefighters in protecting the community.
The outreach effort highlighted the department’s commitment to public education and fostering safety awareness among younger generations.
