The Attleboro Fire Department and Attleboro High School partnered on June 9th to offer students practical training and exposure to vocations in public safety, EMS, and firefighting.

According to officials, the program was introduced in the 2025–2026 academic year and will continue in the 2026–2027 academic year as part of the school's Career and Technical Education Criminal Justice track. Radio communications, fire behavior, PPE, ropes and knots, structural search methods, vehicle extrication, forced entry, ventilation, and water supply operations are among the subjects taught to students.

Attleboro firefighters spend two days each week working directly with students, providing mentorship and practical demonstrations using fire apparatus and rescue equipment. Department leaders said the program helps students explore career opportunities while developing teamwork, leadership, and real-world skills.

The initiative builds upon the department’s long-standing commitment to youth education, including its Heart Safe Schools program, which has provided CPR and AED training to Attleboro High School students for the past decade.
