Eight recruits from the Lynn Fire Department were among the graduates of Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Recruit Class 339 who were congratulated by members of the City of Lynn Fire Department on June 5.

According to officials, the graduates successfully finished the demanding training program at the academy after months of arduous labor, devotion, and loyalty to the fire service. The training equips new firemen with the abilities and information needed to handle crises in a safe and efficient manner.

The recruits were welcomed back to Lynn by department heads, where they will continue to grow throughout their probationary period and be given temporary responsibilities.
