CAROLINA, RI — May 18th — In preparation for an impending parade, the Richmond–Carolina Fire District honored an important aspect of the department's past by preparing vintage Engine 62. The device is a 1967 International Farrar pumper with a 500-gallon water tank and a 750-gallon-per-minute pump. It is still in its original condition and was the Carolina Fire Department's first new engine.

The Richmond–Carolina Fire District, located at 208 Richmond Townhouse Road, is still maintaining old equipment that honors the department's history. Engine 62's arrival gave locals and firefighters a chance to acknowledge the development of firefighting technology and the fire service's customs.
