Veteran Fire Captain Retires After 22 Years of Service

VINEYARD HAVEN, MA — May 14th — After 22 years of service to the Martha's Vineyard community, Captain John O'Donnell was honored by the Tisbury Fire Department upon his retirement. O'Donnell started out as a junior fireman and worked his way up through the ranks, holding leadership positions with Engine Company No. 2 and Rescue Company No. 1.


In addition, he contributed to the department's Honor Guard and Dive Support team over his 19 years as an Emergency Medical Technician. O'Donnell was renowned for his commitment, leadership, and mentoring of other firemen throughout his career. Officials from the department wished him well in retirement and thanked him for his dedication to public safety.
