Along with regional colleagues from the Sandwich Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard, members of the Barnstable Fire Department took part in yearly maritime operations training on June 4-5 on Cape Cod Bay.
In order to perform realistic marine emergency scenarios in a difficult setting, the exercise brought together Coast Guard motor lifeboats, fire department boats, and airplanes. During water-based emergencies, training concentrated on improving communication, interagency collaboration, and operational abilities.
