On June 6, members of the Gales Ferry Volunteer Fire Company provided fire and emergency medical services on the water during the yearly Yale-Harvard Regatta. Together with the Ledyard Police marine unit, firefighters manned equipment and marine units at both boat houses during the event to guarantee safety on the racetrack.
Through mutual aid agreements, more marine resources were made available, enhancing emergency response capabilities throughout the regatta.
