STATESBORO, GA — May 21st — Dallas McPhee, a retired fire inspector, visited firefighters and staff at the Statesboro Fire Department. McPhee took the time to share his experiences, tales, and insights from his years in the fire service. According to department officials, visits from retired firefighters offer current employees invaluable educational opportunities and contribute to the preservation of the profession's heritage and customs.


Experienced members frequently provide useful guidance that promotes leadership, safety, and firefighter growth. The significance of preserving ties between present and retired members of the fire service community was also brought to light by the visit.
