Canton, GA - The Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a residential structure fire on Hillcrest Ridge following reports of a home struck by lightning.

Upon arrival, crews found a two-story residence with smoke showing from the attic. Firefighters initiated an aggressive interior attack while simultaneously conducting a search to ensure all occupants were out of the home.

The fire was quickly brought under control, limiting further damage to the structure. All occupants had safely evacuated prior to arrival, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the department’s Fire Investigations Team.
