Members of Avon Park Professional Firefighters Local 3132 were honored by the Avon Park Fire Department on May 8 for giving Ridge Arc the proceeds from their sales of Autism Awareness shirts.

The firefighters' generosity and ongoing dedication to helping the community outside of their emergency response responsibilities were commended by department authorities. In addition to raising awareness of autism, the fundraiser gave money to a group that supports people with developmental disabilities.
