The Immokalee Fire Control District announced on June 2 that it has added its first two certified paramedics, marking a significant milestone in its emergency medical services program. The accomplishment comes after the state granted the department an Advanced Life Support (ALS) license in November 2025.

Firefighter Chao and DE Haislip started working as the district's first certified paramedics on May 21, 2026. According to department authorities, the district's capacity to offer residents and guests life-saving medical care and sophisticated prehospital care is improved by the addition of paramedics.
