On Monday 3 June 2024 firefighters from the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department assisted with the celebrations for a last flight. Firefighters from St 56 performed a turret salute with two Oshkosh Striker 3000 ARFF apparatus. A US Army Aviator with 24 years of service performed his last flight in a CH-47F Chinook helicopter assigned to B Co 1-111th Avn Florida Army National Guard. The last flight was flown in the downtown Jacksonville area with a last takeoff and landing happening at Cecil Airport, in Jacksonville Florida.
