1RN News Team,
Citrus, FL - Citrus County Fire Rescue personnel recently trained alongside the MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) during an intensive airboat operations program focused on safety, readiness, and response in challenging environments.
Training covered key skills including airboat maintenance, safe loading and unloading, evasive maneuvering, high-wind operations, navigation in shallow and deep water, limited dry-ground travel, and recovery of stuck or grounded vessels.
With Citrus County’s extensive waterways, marshes, and remote areas, this type of hands-on training is essential to ensuring crews are prepared to respond safely and effectively when emergencies occur in hard-to-reach locations.
