HOWELL, N.J. — May 25th — On Memorial Day, members of Freewood Acres Fire Company No. 1 honored the men and women of the US military who gave their lives while defending the country. The department asked citizens to consider the significance of Memorial Day and wished them a safe holiday weekend.

Every year, ceremonies, parades, and community gatherings are held to honor military soldiers who lost their lives while serving their country. In order to assist their communities and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, fire service organizations regularly take part in these observances.
