Englishtown Firefighters Recognized at Monmouth County Medal Day

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. — May 17th — Firefighters from all around the county came together to celebrate service and sacrifice at the Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office Memorial Service and Medal Day, which was attended by members of the Englishtown Fire Department. Chief Engineer Pasquale DiBennetto, the department's lone line-of-duty fatality, was honored during the ceremony. Awards for outstanding emergency responses were also given out at the event.


Along with personnel from the Monroe Township Fire District #2 and Millstone Township Fire Department, Lieutenant Jason Kole, Lieutenant John Spierto, FF/EMT Georgiy Zavalnik, and FF Anthony Fernandes were given a unit citation. The medal honored their achievements during a technical rescue at Millstone Township Middle School in March, emphasizing the importance of cooperation, teamwork, and training.
