Homer Fire Department Marks International Firefighters’ Day

HOMER, N.Y. — May 4th — Homer Fire Department personnel, located at 45 S. Main Street observed International Firefighters' Day alongside fire service organizations across the globe. Through emergency response, training, fire prevention, and public education, firemen are honored annually for their dedication to safeguarding lives, property, and communities. Additionally, it pays tribute to firemen who have died or been hurt while performing their duties.


The achievements of both present and previous members whose service has helped the Homer community over the years were acknowledged by department officials. The event demonstrated the commitment, professionalism, and teamwork that firefighters bring to their work while always being ready to act.
