STAATSBURG, N.Y. — May 19th — Members of the WCFDF participated in a vehicle extrication training exercise designed to maintain competency with specialized equipment and develop rescue skills. Firefighters had the chance to review methods for responding to motor vehicle crashes, such as using hydraulic rescue equipment and vehicle access protocols. Crew members were able to practice practical skills in a real-world environment while training on two vehicles provided for the event.
Frequent extrication training facilitates collaboration with EMS workers during rescue operations and keeps firemen ready for situations involving confined passengers. Ongoing drills are crucial for preserving preparedness and safe operations, according to officials. The district expressed gratitude to Cardinal Road Auto Parts for supplying the cars and helping the community's volunteer firefighter training initiatives.
