To improve readiness for brush fire situations, Budd Lake Volunteer Fire Department members held wildfire training on May 13.
According to officials, firefighters used a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) to conduct pump-and-roll operations and cut fire lines throughout the evening. The practical instruction concentrated on methods typically employed in the area's regular wildland and brush fires, which move quickly.
