The Binghamton Fire Department's 2026 Recruit Class reached a significant training milestone on May 20th by participating in live fire evolutions at the Town of Binghamton live burn facility.

According to officials, the training gave recruits the chance to put the abilities they had gained throughout the academy to use in a controlled yet realistic setting. As they get ready for active service, the live burn drills gave participants practical experience working in a fire.

A number of firemen from Binghamton contributed to the training by sharing their expertise and assisting recruits in navigating the changes. Additionally, department heads expressed gratitude to the Town of Binghamton for supporting the training program and providing the facilities.
