Warren Firefighters Train on Rural Water Supply Operations

WARREN, VT — May 13th — The Warren Vol. Fire Department's summer training program started with a practical exercise centered on pump and hose operations. During the drill, firefighters used the ladder truck and all of the department's engines to practice drafting and moving water from a nearby snowmaking pond. A crucial rural firefighting technique utilized in situations without fire hydrants was strengthened by the training. In order to keep workers and equipment prepared for emergency situations, crews examined hose deployment, pump operations, and water delivery protocols.
Ponds, streams, and other natural water sources are essential to many Vermont fire departments' ability to fight fires. Frequent training enhances coordination and helps firefighters stay proficient on the battlefield.
