Engine 6 Trains on Drafting Operations at Mine Falls

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Nashua, NH - Members of Nashua Fire Rescue Engine 6 took to the Mine Falls boat ramp for a hands-on training session focused on drafting operations.

Drafting is a vital skill that allows firefighters to establish a water supply from natural sources like ponds, lakes, and rivers—especially in areas without hydrants or when additional water is needed on scene. Crews worked through the setup and operation of equipment needed to efficiently move water from the source to the apparatus.

Regular training like this ensures firefighters remain sharp, prepared, and ready to handle a wide range of emergency situations.

Great work by Engine 6 continuing to build proficiency and maintain operational readiness
